Greater Buffalo Metropolitan Crime Stoppers, Inc. (Buffalo Crime Stoppers) is a not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) public service organization that assists all law enforcement agencies throughout the nine Western New York counties and Ontario, Canada. Crime Stoppers was created in the Buffalo area in 1989 and went public in 1990. The organization assists law enforcement agencies through television re-enactments of old, unsolved felony crimes. Citizens are encouraged to come forward anonymously with information regarding the wanted persons
